WHITEHALL, Wis. — Funeral services for Tracy O. Whitehall, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, the Rev. Richard Keiling officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery with military rites by members of Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post 191.
He was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, Wis., where he was taken after suffering a heart attack at the home of his son in Eau Claire.
He and a brother owned and operated Ford Auto Sales here from 1920 to 1970.
The son of Gilbert and Ida Rice, he was born in Whitehall May 18, 1896. He married Sylvia Nelson in August 1929. She died in July 1975. He was a World War I Army veteran and a charter member and past commander of Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post 191 and was past commander of Trempealeau County American Legion. He served as mayor of Whitehall from 1936-1948.
He was a 50-year member of the Whitehall Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. and the Whitehall Order of Eastern Star, aformer member of Tripoli Shrine Temple; a member of Zor Shrine, Madison, charter and recipient of the Johnny Lightfoot Award of Zor Drum Corps; was the 1979 Lions Club service award was director of John O. Melby Co. Bank from 1936 to 1979, and currently was an honorary board member.
Survivors are: a son, Gregory, Eau Claire; three daughters, Mrs. Mari Martino, New Haven, Conn , Mrs. Sara Martin, Westhaven, Conn.; Mrs. LaVahn (Cathy) Hoh, Charlottesville, Va.; four grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Skogstad, Whitehall, and Mrs. Harold (Marion) Sundstrom, Lutsen, Minn.
Friends may call Sunday after 4 p m at Jack Funeral Home, Whitehall, where a Masonic service will be at 8, then at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
