Newspaper Dies
WHITEHALL, Wis., April 2.—(Special.)—Frederick E. Beach, 74, founder and for many years editor and publisher of the Whitehall Times, died here about 4:30 this afternoon following a paralytic stroke which he suffered about 10 o’clock this morning. He had been in the best of health for some years.
Mr. Beach was born in Charlotte, Vt., and came to Whitehall about 69 I years ago. About 50 years ago he established the Whitehall Times and conducted it almost continuously since until about five years ago when he sold his holdings to Scott B. Nichols. He previously had relinquished the editorship for a short time, while he acted as field man for a state institution and later while he spent a brief period in the west. During these periods the paper was conducted by his brother.
Mr. Beach is survived by his widow and four children as follows: Louis, Pueblo, Colo.: Mrs. Maud Kutz, Waukesha; Charles, Youngstown, Or, and Mrs. John Dickens, Racine, recently of Eau Claire.
