Charles A. Adams
Charles Adams of Eau Claire died at a hospital Monday from pneumonia, aged 76 years. Mr. Adams is well known at Whitehall and lived here from the time the railroad built through until a few years ago. He worked on the railroad when it built west from Mer- r.'llan to Winona and was the first section boss at Whitehall. Later he went into business and conducted a hardware and furniture store for many years. About seven years ago he disposed of his property here and moved to Eau Claire, where he has since resided.
Funeral service was held Wednesday and the remains were placed in a vault in Forest Hill cemetery. The pall bearers were old friends from Whitehall, Ludwig Solsrud, Anton Melby, W. J. Webb, L. Hammerstad, G. S. Rice and E. C. Getts.
The funeral was from the undertaking parlors. Rev. Clarke of the M. E. church officiating.
Deceased is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. John Westberg.
Those present at the funeral from Whitehall were: Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Webb, Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Rice, Mrs. E. J. Kidder, Mrs. Martin Swenson, James Mason and Theo B. Olson.
