implement dealer dies
WHITEHALL, Wis. — Peter M. Paulson, 97, former Whitehall businessman, died Sunday, Oct. 31, in Tri-County Memorial Hospital, Whitehall. He had been a resident of the Pigeon Falls Nursing Home for the past three years.
Paulson had owned and operated an implement business in Whitehall from 1926 until the early 1970s.
He also was justice of the peace here for 50 years and was a volunteer fireman for 50 years. He had been active in the Whitehall Improvement Association.
Paulson was a member of Blue Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons, Royal Arch Masons, Eau Claire Commandery and Consistory, Zor Temple in Madison and the Order of the Eastern Star.
He also was a member of the Odd Fellows and Modern Woodsmen organizations.
Paulson was born April 3, 1885, in the town of Arcadia to Hans and Marit (Nelson) Paulson. He married Sylvia Melby in 1923 in Whitehall and she died in 1940.
Survivors are a brother, Henry of Pigeon Falls; and a sister, Mrs. Netta Hunter of Whitehall. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Services will be on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the United Methodist Church at Whitehall, with the Rev. Thomas Lambrecht officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Whitehall.
Friends may call at the Jack Funeral Home, Whitehall, on Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic service to be at 8 p.m. Friends also may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 9 to 11 a m. and at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the services.
